How to set up a new mouse when I don't have a mouse

Without a functioning mouse, how can I select commands?

if it's wired, the mouse is usually detected by the mac upon connection

Thanks, but this is a wireless mouse.

You do it all using your keyboard:

• Command Spacebar to launch Spotlight
• type System Preferences then press Return
• Type Bluetooth in the search field which is selected by default then press Return
• Command N to setup new device
• Press Return to turn Bluetooth ON if applicable
• use Arrow Keys to select your new mouse
• Press Return
