I was burning a cd, and the computer (eMac G4, 1.0Ghz, 1GB ram, 17in., CD-RW/DVD) went on sleep mode. Well, when I restarted it, the burn process was stuck on finalizing/something like that and never done nothing. Well, I tried to force quit, waited, waited, waited never changed so I restarted the computer. Well, now it is not showing a cd in the drive nor will it open.

Is there any way to do anything short off taking the drive out???? The cd sounds like it is just spinning around continuously. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Also something that I just checked. I went under About This Mac, and it doesn't list anything under disc burning. It says the a drive isn't installed.

Hi there,

reboot and hold down the mouse/trackpad key till it pops out...

Or try opening iTunes and ejecting from that.
