Help needed with Mail app on iMac.

All my emails have disappeared. Some are important. Any ideas ?

Hi. Your email was on Apple mail? How was your account configured, IMAP, POP3? Is it a commercial (hotmail, gmail, etc) account or an own domain account?

Also, what Mac OS are you running? And are you making backups to an external device?

Hi,

Just to add to others, if your account was .me or .mac then they should be in the cloud. All other mail should be held on the relevant servers. You can also recover them from past time machine backups.

You may have to rebuild your mail boxes.

1) In the Mail app on your Mac, select a mailbox in the sidebar.
2) Choose Mailbox > Rebuild.
