Green dots on display [mini-dvi to dvi]

So I just purchased the apple mini dvi to dvi adapter and I wanted to hook up my Samsung SyncMaster T220 to my Macbook 13-inch (Early 2008 model) to it.

Quick diagram::

Macbook --> Mini DVI to DVI adapter --> DVI cable --> Samsung SyncMaster T220

Now, I have hooked up a different computer to the display via the same DVI cable I am using now, but with the macbook I am experiencing many green and red dots flashing all over the display. Any help??
