My imac has a ghost image of what appears to be an internet page. The imac has never been left switched on unattended. Always put in sleep mode if left for a few minutes.

Hello and welcome.

Normally, that is related to screen burn-in. Can you upload a photo of the issue, as a screenshot will not capture hardware issues?

It isn't always visible. Very faint when it is. Doubt if a camera would catch it. No big deal. Doesn't bother me. Thanks anyway.

No worries.

That issue can sometimes happen over time when the majority of your usage is with a browser and the window is always in the same spot. It doesn't necessarily need to be stuck on the screen for hours with a static image. Many Macs will show a ghosting of the menu bar after years of use, when displaying a solid color in full screen mode, because the menu bar couldn't be "hidden" before El Capitan.

Be well,

C
