SOLVED getting the time right

It's been my experience that if you set your clock to auto-update at time.apple.com, your system clock is often off by a minute or two. That sucks. Not even clear WHEN it tries to set it by that. The answer is simple. Use time.nist.gov. That will set your clock right IMMEDIATELY and keep it right.

Why is time.apple.com so screwed up???

Strange. I've never had an issue on either of my Macs. But then I just choose the appropriate time zone via System Preferences.
