The Instrument Library is invalid. GarageBand expects a valid Instrument Library folder in /Library/Application Support/GarageBand.
Please choose a valid Instrument Library folder or quit and re-install GarageBand

this is what i am getting when trying to open garageband. i have the ilife '05 dvd. this is after installation. the other programs in ilife seem to function fine. only garageband is giving me trouble. i deleted garageband and reinstalled the program and it is still giving me problems. can you help please? thanks...

Hi there and welcome,

Have you had a look in that location to see if 'that' folder has been installed ?

First thing to try...delete GarageBands preference file...

/Library/Preferences/com.apple.garageband.plist

Then try opening GarageBand again, if that doesn't work then...

...you could delete GarageBand again...then use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions.

Then reinstall GarageBand, does it work ?

Let us know...

regards
