I have a translucent volume icon (and associated popping sound) flashing on my screen.
I can turn down the sound in the menu bar icon but as the icon on the screen flashes in shows the volume being turned up with each successive flash.
The problem began when I came back to the computer and found the screen image to be offset. I restarted the computer and the image was reset but I'm still beset with the incessant flashing and bleeting. Yikes!
Any remedies will be greatly appreciated.
