Finder opens in only one particular desktop

I am using three desktops on my Mac-- one for email/calendar and other programs I use most often. Another for web news pages. Another for social media and such. When I boot Finder, it seems to open only in one particular desktop. Would like it to open in my "middle" desktop. Is there some way to get it to open in a particular desktop? Preferences does not seem to help. I can always move icons around so that Finder opens up in my most commonly used desktop. Thanks.

Hi,

-What version of Mac OS X are you running?

This can happen if you have "Automatically rearrange spaces based on most recent use" checked if you are running Lion or Mountain Lion (Mission Control). Could also be a corrupted plist file.
