Final Cut help

Silly question, but have wasted hours on this...when fast forwarding on the Final Cut timeline using JKL keys, the sound goes mute at 2X speed. It didn't used to be like this. PLEASE, how do I un-mute sound at fast forward speed so I can listen to dialogue, but quickly?

What version of FCP have you got ?

What version of OS X are you running ?

Did anything happen before this probloem occured ? ie a software update...
