Can Anyone help?

I transfered all the info from my External HDD to a file on my Desktop,

The intention was to transfer from Desktop to another External HDD,

Although I can open the files on desktop i am unable to move them anywhere!

I have tried to send to DVDRW and Flashdrive but no joy,

I have 40gb to move, I no longer have the first HDD as it is now fitted internaly to

someones laptop somewhere, this was the reason for moving the files in the first place.

Hello, forty gigs isn't going to fit on a DVD-RW. How much space is on the flash drive?

Sorry, my new external HDD is 250gb, I was just trying to get a small part of the info onto flash drive or dvdrw to see if it was possible to move it bit by bit,
I have now solved the problem by formating the external HDD to FAT

Thanks for your help

IAN.

If memory serves, you can only transfer approximately four gigs of info to a FAT32 at a time. If the drive was formatted as Mac OS Extended Journaled, you'd be able to transfer that forty gig folder to it in one shot.
