Failed to initialise iBook clamshell SSD?

i recently installed a SSD in a mSata to IDE enclosure, but when i go to erase it, it shows up, but wont let me erase it.

it is an iBook G3 Clamshell, i tried the original os9 restore disk, and an os 10.0 install disk and it would not allow me to initialise the disk, the adapter is this one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/mSATA-to...459831?hash=item2d0b521ff7:g:-OsAAOSwItFelKY-

and i was using an old OCZ Nocti mSata ssd.

I highly doubt that adapter and mSATA will work in the iBook G3.

When you go to format/initialize the drive, does it give you a specific error?

no, it just says failed to initialise, and in osx disk utility just crashes. in this video there is evidence that it works:
