ethernet problem

I thought I knew how to hook up my old 520c to my iMac. Anyone have a link to a good tutorial on how to do it?

Two problems, when I go to the chooser on the old laptop and select ethernet the box titled "select a file server" is blank.
And on the iMac it asks for the server address when I go to "connect to server". How do I find the 520c's server address?

I'm probably doing something totally wrong. I am running 10.3.9 on the iMac and 7.5.2 on the 520c.

Hi there,

presumably, the connection is fine...are you connecting them directly...or through a switch/hub ?

Have you set up sharing on either Machine ?
