DVDs

I have a MAC OS X 10.5.8 I have just tried burning a slideshow that I transferred fron Iphoto to Idvd and then burned to a disc. My problem is that the quality of the photos on the disc is very poor. Any suggestions??

Thats the DVD format http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard-definition_television#Pixel_aspect_ratio

If you don't want DVD quality you will need you do some playing around. But there is no way you will get great quality in VOBs.
