Hi,

I am fairly new to macs and have an imac with the following spec:

Mac OS X Version 10.5.2
Processor: 2 GHz Intel Core Duo
Memory 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

I have somehow messed up the display of my machine such that the desktop displays as if looking at a negative of a picture. For example I have set my Desktop image as Earth Horizon (within Nature folder). Instead of showing Earth as blue & white against a dark skyline, the image is a light orange & black Earth against a white sky.

I have tried to correct this via the Desktop & Display applications within System Preferences to no avail. My display is set to basic color LCD. Within the Appearance application I have selected Blue as the color for both Appearance and Highlight Color. Both of these actually show up as a golden Brown despite being titled Blue.

Please help!

Hello, and welcome to Mac-Help. Try control-option-command 8 and see if that gets things back to normal.

Thanks for this solution as well. How on earth did you figure it out? I was going crazy trying to fix this on my wife's computer. This simple sequence of keys worked great.
