Can't empty trash

I use Oynx for maintenance/cleaning tasks, but its' Emptying Trash "feature" is not much better than Apple's. I still think you should give TrashIt! a try. I'll repeat the instructions from my post above:

"You can download TrashIt! (http://www.nonamescriptware.com/). Once the download is complete, there will be a file entitled "Trashit.zip" in your downloads folder. I would suggest first dragging it to your desktop. Then, double click on that file, and it will create a folder entitled "Trash It! 6.0.1" on y0ur desktop. Double click on that, and there is another folder (actually two folders) entitled "Drag content to Desktop". Double click on that, and yiu'll see the Trash It! application. Just double click on that, and follow the screen "prompts". "

By the way, TrashIt! has both a "Fast" option, and one called "Really Stuck". Try the Fast option first. If that does not do the trick, then try "Really Stuck".

There seems to be two or three "suggestions" that get mentioned more than once:

1. Use Terminal with those various commands shown in the thread.

2. Open the trash, then hold down command option shift delete.

Trash It! is also mentioned, but nothing definitive as to it working or not. I still think you should try the following, in the order suggested:

1. Open the trash, then hold down command option shift delete.

2. Download and run Trash It!.

3. Try the Terminal commands.
