can't empty trash - locked items

NIGHTMARE- I'm editing a film and I'm trying to delete unwanted files. After sending the files to the trash, I try to empty the trash, but there are over 18,000 files to unlock! I'm editing P2 card footage, and there are lots of subfolders, all locked. How do I empty the trash?

Hello, try emptying the trash as you press the option key.

Best I can remember You can over ride emptying locked files by holding option then choose empty trash while holding down the option key.

Depending on your OS, being on Mac, pressing down option while Emptying the Trash should do it.
