27" imac (late 2015) Catalina. If I go to 'System preferences' > 'icloud' I cannot deselect 'Photos'. All other selections seem to work.

I have booted to an external drive running Big Sur and am able to deselect 'Photos' but the problem persists in Catalina.

Any thoughts?

I took the opportunity to upgrade to Big Sur and the copied my photo library from my El Capitan machine over.
All working as it should now.

Hi,

Sorry you had this whole conversation yourself, but glad you found a resolution!

Not sure why that happened, as it should be supported in Catalina.

Be well,

C
