In order to get rid of a bug, I'm scheduled to do a factory reset. I would like to copy my Contacts to an external device so that I can restore it after the reset. Is it possible to make the round trip without re-entering every detail?

Hello,

The easiest way is to use iCloud. If you set it up, it will sync your contacts. Then, when you start over and setup iCloud again, they will all sync back to your Mac from iCloud.

I failed to mention that the problem is on my iPhone, but your answer still holds true. I just finished almost two hours chatting with an Apple advisor, and she cleared up a lot of concerns, and knowing what the procedure will be like took a lot of fears out of my old brain.
