can i re-name more than one file at once?

hi, i am trying to organize my files and i have groups of photos which are all from one event and i want to re-name them. is it possible to select say 10 photos and give them all the same name at once and the computer allocate numbers to each name? Im sure i could do this on my windows pc but i cant figure it out on the mac. thanks :biggrin:

Hello, you can create your own app to do this in Automator by choosing the "Ask For Finder items" and the "Rename Finder Items" actions.
