Up-to-date big Mac.. In Preview, I often crop photos and fairly often, the pic is saved as a brilliant blue rectangle! So I hit command-z and start again. Is there a fix? or an apology?

Hello.

-What format are the images in before editing?
-What is the source of the images you are editing?
-Does it do the same with all types of images - JPG, TIF, PNG, etc?
-Does it only happen when cropping?

C,
Generally I'm doing work on jpegs, some pngs.
Generally images I've gathered online.
I think it happens if I'm color correcting too but mainly cropping.

OK, thanks.

What happens if you import them into the Photos app and edit there?

I don't like iPhoto if that's the same thing. Doesn't work well for me. Now I have this window I don't know what to do with. The beachball is spinning endlessly? on iPhoto.

Hmmm...

If you still have iPhoto, then what version of OS X/macOS?

You should be able to enter your user password and click Always Allow to clear that dialog box.

Photos replaced iPhoto in OS X El Capitan 10.10.3.

The api.facebook prompt is probably due to you setting up your Facebook account at some point in  > System Preferences... > Internet Accounts, or in iPhoto to share photos to your Facebook account. I would guess the latter. If so, it is prompting you for your computer user password to access the stored Facebook account information in your keychain to make the connection.

OK, thanks, so I can 'deny' without problems.
I have Photos too, was not aware they were separate. Ooohh my head hurts.
