Backing up Iphone to Tiger

My wife uses an old I-mac Power PC G5 with OS.10.4.1.including Itunes 8.2.1 She has an Iphone 4S with the latest IOS software. She would like to back up the phone to the I-mac and sync the address book and music to the phone.

I've been told she has to upgrade the OS to accomplisgh this. Any suggestions of how to do this? Thanks

Hi,

Sorry but can't be done as she would need Snow Leopard and her Mac cannot run Snow Leopard.
To run OS X10.6 the computer needs an Intel cpu and the iMac G5's do not have an Intel cpu they have a "G5" cpu. Unless my memory fails me.

Exactly that machine is a PowerPC Mac. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_Mac_G5
