Audio Cutoff from Display Sleep

For example I'm watching a youtube video. Then I leave the computer for a couple of minutes. When I come back the display is sleeping already (blacked out). But the audio is still running. When I wake up the display the audio cuts out. The speaker icon in the upper right is grayed out. I have to unplug the speakers from the back and insert it back in.

Any explanation and solution for this? I have to turn my Mac mini backwards so easier access to the ports.

Thank you.

Hello,

-What version of OS X?
-What type of speakers - standard audio jack or USB?
-Have you checked your Energy Saver and Desktop & Screen Saver settings and adjusted them?

Also:

1. What Mac Mini model do you have? I have a late 2012 one, and am not having such issues (running the latest version of Sierra, OS 10.12.3).

2. What third party software do you have/are using?

Cory:

Mac OS X 10.10.5

Standard audio jack

Checked my energy saver. It's in the default 10 mins. computer and display sleep.
