I'm trying to understand what the application launcher at the bottom of Control Center is all about.
Mine seems to default to Music.app, though I NEVER use that app. What is the purpose of that
application launcher and how do you change the default application? As far as I'm concerned
I'd be happy if it just went away. I'm using Monterey 12.5.1.

Hi,

The Music app is shown at the bottom on all Macs in Control Center, and there isn't any way to change it or totally hide it that I know of. The functions of Control Center are linked to System Preferences as an easier quick access way to change settings.

That's kinda nuts. So Control Center decides that I want to make it easy to open an application I never ever use? Gee, who do I thank for that?

;)

Yeah, it's more of a media control thing than an application launcher...similar to the media buttons on the Apple keyboards.
