Apple remote with c. 2015 MacBook

Hi,
I wish to use a remote to control youtube videos on my MacBook. I have a 2015 MacBook Pro Retina running OS Catalina. Is/are there suitable remote(s) and which model(s) if so?

You could use AirPlay from an iPhone to the Mac giving you "remote" control over playback but I don't know of a remote control that would work that way. See;. https://support.apple.com/en-sg/guide/iphone/iphd668e80e6/ios

The remote needs to be some distance from the MacBook. Want to control playback of a youtube video from a few feet away.

So, a wireless mouse would be ideal. Usually have a range of 15-20 feet.

Well, yes, I hadn't thought about a bluetooth mouse having a longish range. There might be user interface issues, but it could work. Thanks.

I've found Bluetooth mice problematic in the past so now use wireless mice instead.
