I tried to adjust the width of a column in a table in the same way that it's done in Pages '09, which I'm used to. Didn't work. I searched for an answer on the web but found nothing. In the Pages "Help" menu, the way they describe to do it sounds exactly like the way it is done in Pages '09, but I can't seem to do it. Apparently, I'm missing something, but I don't know what. Can anyone help?

Hello and welcome.

-Are you trying to increase or decrease the size of the column?

It does still work the same - click and hold on the divider between the two column headings (i.e. A and B) and the cursor will change to a double-arrow line, then drag. But, if you try and increase column width, it may not work because of the maximum width of the table. You would have to reduce the width of other columns or change the width of the entire table before resizing. Remember, this is an inserted table that has a maximum width, unlike a sheet in Numbers that basically has basically unlimited width/height and number of columns/rows.

Ahhh, I see. I was trying to increase the width of a column. In Pages '09, it was much quicker and easier to do so. You just increased it and the other columns would just automatically narrow to compensate. Thank you so much for this explanation!
