Adding Usenet Groups To MAIL ?

Hello,

Running High sierra.

Using the apple/Mac App "MAIL" for my eMails.

Would love to append to my list of Folders on the left hand pane, the
Usenet Forums like I used to have on my very old windows pc.

I think, but am not sure, it was accessed via Mozilla. Was used with Thunderbird.
I am very happy with the Apple MAIL App., and really don't want to have to use
Thunderbird again for Usenet.

How can I use Usenet with MAIL ?

If anyone is using the Usenet Groups via Mozilla, or..., would be most
appreciative if you could run me through the exact steps I would
need to go thru to install it, and use it via MAIL.

Good morning,

Unfortunately, Apple Mail does't support Usenet or newsgroups.There was a nice paid Usenet client called Unison, which was developed by Panic Inc. They stopped development back in 2014, but made it available as an unsupported app for free. You could also use Thunderbird as you had previously.

I just downloaded Unison, but it says it needs a "Usenet Server"

Any thoughts on how I should access one, hopefully easy to use and free ?

No worries...that's why we're here.

Most of the free Usenet servers have been shutdown, but here is a list I found: Free Usenet Server List.

I never really used Usenet or newsgroups, so I have pretty limited experience with it.
