Upon logging in on my MAC I get the message:

'[ file ].pages couldn't be opened right now. Pages could't read the file. You can try restoring to a previous version''.

Previous versions are not available

This - and other .pages files - I have included in the System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions (among other files) in order to open at login. The pages files refuse to open at login, even when they are the only ones left in the System settings. The Pages App used is the latest version: 14/3.

But when I use Finder > etc and click to open these files, they open without any problem!

'Couldn't be opened right now'. what does it mean? Is it waiting for something else?

'Pages couldn't read de file' but the reason why is not clarified. How can I find out?

Does somebody know a way around?

2 things to try. 1st is to try and put pages in the Startup Items so that its running when the call comes to open the documents.

The 2nd thing I would try would be to setup an AppleScript to open the documents, and then put that script in the Startup Items.

If you see such problem during Mac login, it may be due to system resources not initializing fully. Remove the files from System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions and open them manually after startup. Ensure your macOS and Pages app are updated. If problems persist, My Computer Works reviews offers remote tech support; their reviews on PissedConsumer highlight their reliability for resolving Mac-related issues.

Data files don’t have a place in login items because they require their application to be already running to open. If you need for that file to be open and waiting for you at startup, you can use Automator.app to create an “app” that you can maybe add to login items. Personally, I would just add the file to my dock and easily launch it with a mouse click.
