I received this refurbished from BackMarket yesterday, and spent all day trying to get it to connect to my Wi-Fi but couldn’t.

It can see all available networks including mine, but will not connect to mine. I tried the pram, deleting .plist files and even pinged the Wi-Fi card through terminal. Nothing.

Also, the computer has an SSD and 16gb ram, and is fairly zippy, except when I click on network settings, and then it freezes up a lot and takes forever for any selection to even register. Lots of rainbow wheels spinning after every network selection.

Any ideas? I’m completely stumped. I don’t want to have to send it back but if I can’t resolve it today I’ll probably return it tomorrow.

Thanks all

Hello and welcome.

Sorry for the delayed response.
  • Which version of Monterey?
  • I assume you went through the initial setup screens when you powered it on for the first time?
  • Do you have the ability to connect it via Ethernet?
  • Maybe try running Apple Diagnostics
