Hello all. I’m new to this forum.

I have a base model 2014 Mac Mini.

I have decided to try to get three monitors connected, but I am aware it only natively supports 2.

I have been looking at my options to get the 3rd monitor working

Option 1. Use usb to hdmi dongle.
Option 2. Use my works dell d6000 is thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter.

I am baffled by the dongles available for option 1 and prices seem expensive.

Option 2 is my preferred one as I use this for my works computer and have three monitors connected as well ask all my peripherals. I did try to get this worming using usb a. But it only supports 2 monitors this way. I was wondering if you can get a thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter and use that?

Has anybody had any experience in this.

Thanks all in advance.

Hello and welcome.

I am not aware of any way to get a third display working with that model Mac mini. I haven't seen any USB 2/3 to HDMI adapters that work with Macs, as they use HDMI, Mini DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, or USB-C for video, depending on the model.

Sorry,

C
