2011 iMac help on OS and browser upgrade please

I want to download some photo book software and am getting a message that I need a newer version browser.
I currently am running El Capitan version 10.11.6
I would like help on what I should upgrade my OS to and then which browser and what version is best.

Which Mac computer do you have?

Try Firefox and/or Chrome.

It's a 27 inch, Mid 2010, with a 3.2 GHz Intel Core i3 processor.
I have very little knowledge about it. I just wanted it for pictures and music.

It's a 27 inch, Mid 2010, with a 3.2 GHz Intel Core i3 processor.

That will go upto MacOS 10.13.6 which is High Sierra.
