Hey guys, I'm new to the forum, and unfortunately, I don't know a lot about Macs. Ask me anything about PCs though.

So, due to the lack of rosetta support on Lion, I downgraded to OS X Snow Leopard, and so far everything's working great... except... the idle temperatures for this laptop are 60-70 degrees celsius, it's almost uncomfortable to have on my lap, and I'm worried above long-term damage to the CPU, and other hardware.

Please get back to me ASAP.

Thanks.

Sounds like you have an out of control process.

With a new install ensure Spotlight has enough time to fully index your drive, this could take days, and it will run hot while it does it. Stopping this by shutting the lid or shutting down causes it to start again.

Check Utilities > Activity Monitor for very active processes.
