Wireless mouse and Mac Mail

I have a bluetooth mac mouse. It seems to work fine in every program I use except Mail. I cannot click or scroll with the mouse. Keyboard actions still work but the wireless mouse is helpless.

You can try a few things:
1. Quit Mail and relaunch it
2. Restart your Mac
3. If you have a USB mouse, connect it, unpair your Magic Mouse, then re-pair it and see if it works then

Do you have a current Time Machine or other backup? If so, try Eric Root's suggestion in this post:
Magic mouse scrolling stops working in mail since upgrading to Mavericks, anyone have a solution?
