new wireless mouse & ipod shuffle

Got a new wireless keyboard (which I'm using), new wireless mouse and new ipod shuffle for Xmas. The mouse and ipod apparently need OS x 10.5 or greater to install. My Mac is running OS X 10.4.11. There are no software updates that have not already been performed. What do I need to do to upgrade? Thanks

Thanks. Kinda thought that's what it would take- just wanted a second opinion.
