Well that was weird. iMac Started up, but no external device worked

Hi, turned on my iMac 24" Mi Ventura OS 13.3.1

looked normal. but mouse cursor would not move. i Use a uSB mouse. un plugged it a few times, ad replugeged it in to severl posrt on the USB Hub, light came back on but refused to move. same thing happened when i plugged it back into STECI hub on my imac body..

found the same thing with mu usb apple keyboard...

finaly had to do a hard reset, held down powere button till eit went of. counted to 10 and when it came back up all seemed to be Ok.

Not had this before.. dont want it again.

any clues?
