updated OS

HI:I updated my OS to 10.12.1 and the last 3 years of my photos in I-Photo did not get moved into photos! Where are they? Help!!

I have a mac book pro and upgraded to 10.12.i sierra . I had OS 10.9.2. I had latest upgraded i -photo.... wish I had kept better notes but last photos to be included was feb 2013.... almost 4 years missing

Have you being doing regular backups?

with my old OS i could enter my time machine to see but can not figure out how to do this with this OS
