UnZip problem

I have been sent a Zip64 file via We Transfer and my Mac Ventura cannot open it. I get an error message. The Unarchiver app could not open it. A direct drag into the Terminal, using unzip, did not work.....maybe I have an application problem?

The first thing that I would try is to change the extention from .zip64 to .zip and then double click on the file.

If this does not work, it is possible that the file is corrupt.

I had a similar issue with a Zip64 file not opening on my Mac, and it was super frustrating! The Unarchiver app wasn’t doing the trick for me either, and I tried using Terminal like you did.

It didn’t work at all. Eventually, I found iZip, which worked like a charm for opening these larger zip files. It’s free and easy to use. After downloading it from the official site https://izip.com/, I was able to open the file without any issues.

I was actually surprised how simple it was to get things working again!
