Uninstalling MacKeeper (Real Bad software!)

The issue of MacKeeper has been mentioned numerous times in various forums here. I just saw this informative article on www.maccentral.com that shows how to remove ALL the MacKeeper "pieces":

For Admin: Is it possible to make this some kind of "sticky" for this on this site? That could be very, very convenient and helpful.

In trying to get rid of all traces of mackeeper from my Macbook Pro I have found that when I move the mackeeper folder from Library-Application Support into Trash, and then try to empty Trash, I get a box telling me that the operation can't be completed because 'MacKeeperATd' is in use. No other applications running. How do I fix that? 2012 MacBook Pro OSX 10.8.5

I had that article up on the other Macbook while working with the Macbook Pro. It didn't quite work.
