Hi
I would be most grateful for any advice on the following please...

I have had my OS X for 6 years using Snow Leopard and it has run faultlessly from the day I bought it, up until recently that is.
However for the last few weeks when trying to open certain applications I keep getting the 'unexpectedly quit' panel.
This happens when trying to open Freehand MX, Illustrator Ai, Acrobat and even the virus scan.
Not sure how to sort this.

Many thanks
Peter

I guess failing hard drive, ensure you have a current backup of all you important files.
You may have to reformat and start again.

But start by tracking down their Library > Preferences > .plist files and deleting those.

Freehand MX, Illustrator Ai, Acrobat
could be a Flash update broke these.

virus scan
just wreaks drives for no good reason.

I did update Flash lately, so it may be that. I'll backup today.

Hi,

Also it would not hurt running Disk Utility - repair permissions two or three times.
