Trouble uploading video from Sony HD Video Camera Recorder

I got a great camera but can't upload the video to my MacBook Pro. The software included in the packaging is for PCs. The user manual says to contact Apple for help! When I plug the camera into the USB port, the PMBPortable software pops up. The error message reads "Only pictures will be downloaded. Use i-movie for downloading video." I-movie doesn't show any of my videos. Can anyone help? Thanks so much.

Go into iMovie and Click the Camera Icon, select the camera from the popup. That should let you import your video. If its a compatible camera, most of the modern ones are.
