Im a bit concerned my partner has added some type of spywear onto my mac, and I need to check if this is true.

I have a G5 running Tiger. 10.4.8

I have no idea where to start, Ive googled but I can only find american sites and ones I have to pay for, which I cant do basically as he has all the debit/credits cards.

He is a control freak basically and I just need reassurance Im not freaking out for no reason.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks xxx

Hi, I wouldn't worry too much about Spyware on a Mac. Here's a couple of apps that check for Spyware or I should say claim to do so, I've used them quite a few times and besides a couple of Google tracking cookies, they've found nothing. WARNING: WHEN THESE APPS ARE INSTALLED THEY ARE A PAIN TO UNINSTALL. ESPECIALLY INTERNET CLEANUP. IN ADDITION, INTERNET CLEANUP HAS THE MOST IRRITATING NAG SCREEN I HAVE EVER HAD THE DISPLEASURE OF SEEING AND IF YOU DECIDE THAT YOU WANT TO UNINSTALL IT, MAKE SURE THAT YOU UNINSTALL THE APP AND ALL OF IT'S ASSOCIATED FILES OR THAT NAG SCREEN WILL CONTINUE TO REAR IT'S UGLY HEAD AND DRIVE YOU NUTS! IN ESSENCE, THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU INSTALL THESE.
