I wonder if someone can help. Some attachments that people are emailing seem to be being removed. I have checked with my email host, and he has managed to load my email account onto a computer his end and can view and open the attachments, so it doesn't seem to be an issue that end. Can anyone help me to resolve this? Many thanks.

If Mail can't maintain a good connection then it won't download the attachment.

Also check activity monitor.

Some attachments
what type and what size are the attachments? What OS? What type of Mac?

Thanks for coming back to me. The attachments are CVs, so word or pdf documents - not large, two or three pages perhaps? I have a MacBook Pro OSX V10.6.8. How do I check the activity monitor? Sorry for being a dullard....

How do I check the activity monitor?

Open your applications folder in the dock, look for the utilities folder and open then as in my screen shot look for the AM icon and click.
