Shut down instead of sleep

Hi

I have a Powerbook G4
When I put it to sleep it keeps shutting down rather than sleeping

Can you help me?

what version of OS does it have ?

Has it always done this ?

It is running OSX
No, it has been running fine for a year before this happened

I used cleanapp to clear the cache files on the computer last week and then the problem started, but I am not sure if the two issues are connected

I have reset the PRAM and the NVRAM
Both seem to help the problem, but only temporarily and there is still a dialogue box asking me if I want to shutdown my computer when I open it from sleep

Hi there Alex,

OS X is a generic term... You are running OS 10 but what is the version number 10.1 10.2 etc.

It may be that you have downloaded an update recently that has corrupted in some way.

Let us know the version number and we'll see what we can come up with.
