Hello all-I am new to Mac, was a PC user before. Additionally, I have no background or real understanding of computer language.

I was trying to set a folder in my variable path. Finding step by step instructions online, I opened Terminal, typed sudo vi .bash_login, typed my password, and typed i for Insert. However, instead of just starting to type the path I wanted to enter, I hit backspace. Fearing I messed something up, I closed the Terminal. I tried to re-enter the PATH after that in the same manner, but got an error message (I can't remember what it was). Now when I type in sudo vi .bash_login I get the following:

boriek-520b:~ thechemicalzbetweenus$ cd
boriek-520b:~ thechemicalzbetweenus$ sudo vi .bash_login

".bash_login" 1L, 55C

I am not sure what I did, but I think I messed up the .bash_login script somehow. Can anyone help? I am a computer dummy, so step by step instructions would be great.

Thanks!
