Screen brightness wont go down

I have a blue G3 Imac, recently my husband installed some drivers for a modem on my computer without realizing that it was for PCs only. Now, after I login, I get to my desktop screen and the saturation and brightness of the screen is blown out so that I can barely see anything. Its not a brightness or saturation problem with the monitor because I have turned those down and it is still blown out. I have uninstalled the software and this has had no effect. If someone could please give me some suggestions on what to do to save my mac that would be great.
