I am new to Automator and after struggling for an embarrassing amount of time, I would love help.

Several times a day I have to cut and paste text from one email to another while removing the same 5 characters, "(CSTL)". E.g., I cut the following:
  • Tuesday, 26 May, 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM (CST)
  • Wednesday, 27 May, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM (CST)
  • Thursday, 28 May, 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM (CST)
  • Thursday, 28 May, 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM (CST)

I then remove the "(CST)" and paste into a new email:
  • Tuesday, 26 May, 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM
  • Wednesday, 27 May, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Thursday, 28 May, 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
  • Thursday, 28 May, 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Pasting the text into Word, running a Find & Replace and then placing the remainder into my new email works well enough. But it would be great if I had an automated system. Could you advise?

Thanks in advance!

Hello and welcome.

I apologize for us not getting back to you sooner. Most of us here don't have extensive knowledge of Automator/AppleScriot.

-Is it possible to get the original sender to remove those characters?
-Is it an automated email(s) that you are receiving?

Hopefully someone with more experience in scripting will chime in here.

Thanks for letting me know, Cory. I really appreciate it. Could you recommend where I may go with help on scripting?
PS The data comes from using Boomerang's scheduling software.

No problem.

Someone here with scripting experience may still chime in. Let me do a little more research and get back to you.
