powerbook asking to be turneed off randomly

my powerbook g4 osx 10.4 keeps showing a large black box on screen telling me i must restart it and how to do this it also tell you the same thing in many languages it happens randomly and there is nothing i can do apart from restarting it this is very annoying any ideas whats causing this and how to prevent it

please please help
