Power cord compatibility

Is a current iMac power cord compatible with an iMac from 2015?

Hello and welcome.

As far as I know, the actual connection type should be the same, but there may be a difference in the design of the connection end of the cable, which may/may not work.

Is there a specific reason you are asking?

Of course. I have an iMac from ~2015 and I’ve lost the power cord and I need to buy a new one.

I have a 2008 and 2015 imac, the leads are basically the same, the 2015 does have a flange on which fits a circular recess on the imac, a lead without the flange will still fit and work.
the three leads in the photo are (left to right) a plain kettle lead, lead from 2008 imac and lead from 2015 imac.
