Outlook search for emails from a particular person not working

I have Outlook 14.2.1. When I search in "Search This Folder" for emails from a particular party it often delivers some but not all the emails from them. (It's not a problem with just one particular party, happens with anybody.) What's going on? How to fix? TIA.
