Open Appleworks docs in OS 10.7.4

I have some important documents in AppleWorks format. I recently upgraded to OS 10.7.4. I can no longer open those documents. Is there any recovery for this?

If the Appleworks files you need were created with Appleworks 6, then this looks promising, assuming you have the iWorks modules mentioned:

If they were created with anything earlier, then it gets more "dicey". You'll need to read some of those links (via the google search) to find out how to do it.

I downloaded LibreOffice, and it opened the documents. It was worth the $10.00 donation.
